In the Mountaineer ENews: WVU’s Summer Research Immersion

A nice article on the WVU 2019 First2 Summer Research Immersion can be found here in the WVU Today Mountaineer ENews. Most folks who helped with the site are acknowledged, they are Marjorie Darrah and Jesse Cook, Betsy Ratcliff and Roshan Lamichhane, Abby Sine and Zachery Donnellan, Gay Stewart, and Michelle Richards-Babb. A few folks are not mentioned but contributed greatly to mentoring the students. For instance, Michelle Paden, WVU's First Gen Program Coordinator, met with the students several times to discuss college finances and financial aid and her First Gen Office provided funding for the WVU Day at PNC Park. Kathryn Williamson met with the students to discuss the First2 Network, future opportunities with First2, and opportunities as a first-generation student leader at WVU. Kevin Walden, WVU Office of Undergraduate Research Program Director, helped with selections and provided the opportunity for bowling. Kayla Tokar, undergraduate student, took the research photos. Thanks to the WVU village for making the 2-week program a success.
