Students illuminate a Problem with Research Internships: Mentor Quality

We asked our students: why don’t more of you participate in research? Participating in research is a well established high impact practice in college, after all.

One of the reasons more undergraduate students do not stick with research is their poor experience with their mentor. Being an excellent research mentor to a younger undergraduate students requires a skill set that we may not have. First2 Network is all about improvement and our own Cinthia Pacheco, Director of the Research Apprenticeship Program at WVU has organized a virtual workshop to hep us be better mentors. I can’t wait to learn and I hope you will join us!

We posted the flyer on the banner that runs along the top of our main page, and there is a QR code to RSVP. or you can email Cinthia at cinthia.pacheco – at- mail.wvu.edu
