Join members of the First2 Network virtually on October 21 and 22 as we study and act on our learnings from the 2022 summer immersive experiences and the campus clubs! Engage with STEM professionals from MATRIC, Chemours, Solvay, InspectionGo, and Stockmeier Urethanes to develop and pilot research projects in collaboration with STEM faculty members from across the state.

Our goals are: to focus and make progress on finalizing PDSA Templates, collecting data, and studying available data on summer immersives and campus clubs; and encourage collaboration between STEM faculty and industry professionals to start the development of an industry-informed course project for First2 students.

Anyone interested in improvement science and systems change work should attend. This is an opportunity for institutional teams across institutions to study what they are learning about their rural first-generation STEM student population based on data from summer internships and campus club involvement. The goal of the improvement science portion of the convening is to leave the session with actions that can be taken to improve next summer’s internships. This is also an opportunity for STEM faculty to collaborate with industry professionals to develop projects based on industry skills that a STEM graduate will need to be successful in their STEM career.
