PAID 2020 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience at WVU

Undergraduates are encouraged to apply to engage in scholarly activity (research/creative work) via the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program at WVU. Applications are now open (March 2 application deadline). SURE is a PAID undergraduate research experience for students interested in GRADUATE SCHOOL and research/creative work within their discipline or a related discipline. 2020 SURE program dates are May 26-July 24, 2020.

Applicants must either (i) permanently reside in WV or (ii) attend an academic institution in the state of WV. Applicants should be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or its territories.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to find their own WVU faculty research mentor for the SURE program by: (i) searching WVU websites for faculty, within your major(s)/associated majors, with research aligned with your interests/career goals; (ii) contacting and interacting with the faculty member prior to submitting the faculty member's name; and (iii) discussing the SURE program with the faculty member. The faculty member must be agreeable and available to mentor a SURE participant and must complete the Faculty Research Mentor Application.
