Student Director Campus Reports 10/14/2022

Blue Ridge CTC- We had our first Club Field Trip at The National Cryptologic Museum! We had a very successful turn out of around 20 students and received great feedback. We also had our 2nd on-campus club meeting which went well and we are in the process of getting together an e-sports group.

Fairmont- Our last meeting focused on the filling out the PDSA for the campuses. We are having trouble keeping attendance up recently. We dont know why exactly, we theorize maybe because we do to many “work” related requirements there including filling out PDSAs, having institutional meetings, etc. It seems that every week after we do something like that (or we give them a heads up of what we are doing that week), our attendance drops.

Marshall- Last Friday we went to the fall festival with a wonderful turn out with 17 total students. I met with Alisha to continue or student lead PDSA idea about dinner with the deans possibly reserving a room at either CalamityJ or Fat Patty’s. I also submitted our campus club PDSA template for a final review which has been approved so we can proceed with the intake survey and act part.

University of Charleston- This week we did not meet since we meet every other week. We did however decide what movie we will be watching at next weeks halloween movie night, and we also made the poster and sent it to get approved. We should be able to put out the posters inviting everyone to come to our movie night by early next week.

WVU-We are currently waiting to start our book club on the book about Microsteps, which teaches us about self care and how to manage stress. We are also planning a fun halloween club meeting where we are planning on painting pumpkins.

WVU Tech- We hosted a “Gayme” Night with Tech Alliance for Diversity week at Tech. We are going to be hosting a mini pumpkin painting event for fall Fest and doing trunk or treat for the community of Beckley. We are planning to do an Escape room for our next club outing.
