First2 Club News from September 30, 2022

Blue Ridge CTC- We have scheduled our first official club field trip. We will be visiting The National Cryptologic Museum on October 12th in Annapolis, MD.

Fairmont- fairmont state is doing a paint a pumpkin activity this upcoming week. Dr Harvey is trying to get us to do a PDSA meeting, but none of us have a lot of time to dedicate at the moment.

Marshall- We worked on filling our campus PDSA template and gathered data on how many first gen, first and second year STEM major students are on the Marshall campus. We also began planning our student-led PDSA by meeting with the college of science dean Dr. Brian Morgan. Next week we plan to have our campus club meeting at the Pumpkin Festival. We are also working on a partnership with the first-gen office at our school. They have events planned for first gen day in November and we will be helping out.

University of Charleston- We did not meet this week, we will be meeting next week on Thursday!

WVU- We recently had a club meeting, and decided on our book/materials. We also finished working on planning part of the PDSA. We’re also thinking of ideas to be able to increase participation, possibly having food at study meetings.

WVU Tech- We hosted Bingo this past Tuesday and it was a hit! 40 people came when we were expecting 15! 6 Faculty came out! We are now planning to host a painting mini pumpkins activity for the Fall fest Tech is hosting. We are also participating in trunk or treat that our campus hosts for the city.
