Campus Updates for week ending 4/19/2024

Blue Ridge CTC- Holding elections for new officers for next school term, hosting game night tonight. Last meeting will be 4/24.

Fairmont State- we held our last club meeting of the semester on Tuesday, where we talked about requirements and the plans to fufill them.

Glenville- We just held our informational event today from noon to 2. We handed out candy bags where students can get them for free if they filled out a short survey about rural, underrepresented students and see what they knew about first generation students. We are also hosting our study session soon, for finals as well as completing a PDSA on it!

University of Charleston- On Tuesday we honored our three graduates: Hailey Cox, Lauren Roush and Jacob Slate.We took them out for dinner as a fun evening and to wish them well on their future plans. We are now going into finals week and are debating maybe getting a treat for everyone in the club midway through the week as a pick me up!

WVU – We held our graduation party on Wednesday, where we celebrated Keyzar, Revan, and Sarah as First2 graduating seniors. Next week, we plan to hold a study with professors session where scholars can ask questions of their professors before finals week. Our IT has been working on closing this year’s PDSAs, including the Workshop series PDSA.

WVU Tech We are hosting an end of the year cookout today. Several members are going to the May conference, and we are prepping for finals as well as next year’s PDSA.

Shepherd – This week we had two final exams study sessions for First2 members and other STEM students. The turn out was good. Some of the class rooms had tutors or specific work sheets the professors made for that session. In the future, we want to incorporate more resources for the students in every class we worked with.
