HB 4919 passed unanimously in the Senate and now awaits the Governor’s signature.
Academically rigorous disciplines like science and engineering are difficult for all students, but first generation and other underrepresented students encounter even more obstacles. House Bill 4919 will permit a college student to reapply for the Promise Scholarship on an annual basis if that student falls out of eligibility during the academic year.

You can get bill this bill passed by contacting your state senators and voicing your support. There are only 2 weeks left in the session so your rapid action is essential! Include:

  • a request to “support HB 4919 which creates a re-entry pathway to the Promise Scholarship for students who have regained eligibility.”
  • who you are: (1) you are a constituent, 2) Are you a student who receives the Promise? Do you work with students? Are you a parent? ) and
  • why this bill is important to our students, and their ability to complete their college education!
  • Ask for a response and be sure to include a way for your senators to contact you.
