  • Biography

I am a first generation, non-traditional student originally from rural New Hampshire. Currently, I am an adjunct faculty at Fairmont State University (FSU) in the Department of Natural Sciences. Since the spring of 2018, I have been teaching SCIE 1100 - Human Biology lectures and labs (non-science majors), BIOL 1105 - Biological Principles I labs (introduction to population biology) and BIOL 1106 - Biological Principles II labs (introduction to cell biology).

My teaching philosophy is student-centered, where I use active learning pedagogies during my lectures and labs. I incorporate a variety of worksheets and cell phone scavenger hunts that foster small group discussions, peer teaching, and active learning exercises to develop critical thinking skills.
